Como aficionado a los perros, el Profesor Giovanni Morsiani, nacido en 1954, es "Hijo del Arte". De hecho, su padre y maestro, el fallecido Dr. Antonio Morsiani, fue uno de los exponentes más importantes de la famosa e histórica "Escuela italiana de Anatomía y Genética del perro". Después de los estudios clásicos y universitarios (sobre la historia de las artes antiguas, los idiomas extranjeros y agricultura), el profesor Morsiani se dedicó a las propiedades de su antigua familia (una de las más antiguas de la región de Romagna) y, muy especialmente, como erudito, experto y coleccionista de Arte Antiguo, para el estudio de las antiguas obras maestras y autores del arte italiano y europeo.
Su primera tarjeta de socio de ENCI data de 1963 (tenía 9 años). Ese mismo año presentó su primer San Bernardo en una exposición en Italia.

Presidente desde 1995 (Presidente de Honor desde 2019) del Club Italiano de San Bernardo "Antonio Morsiani" (CISB) que fundó en 1967 con su padre, el legendario Dr. Antonio Morsiani, padre del moderno San Bernardo, quien murió en 1995. El Dr. Antonio Morsiani todavía es considerado el maestro, juez y criador de San Bernardo más importante de todos los tiempos. Su hijo Giovanni Morsiani, después de la muerte de su padre, continuó su trabajo para esta raza y hoy es considerado el experto más honorable del mundo por San Bernardo.
Presidente 1989-2016 (Presidente de Honor desde 2017) y fundador (1988) del Lagotto Romagnolo Club italiano. Hoy considerado el experto más importante en el mundo de este perro de agua típico de Italia y Romagna, la única raza pura especializada oficialmente en la búsqueda de trufas.

Ha juzgado, hasta hoy, 4 Exposiciones Europeas FCI y 4 Exposiciones Mundiales FCI (incluyendo la Exposición Mundial de Italia en Milán en 2015 y esta Exposición Mundial en Madrid, en ambos casos San Bernardo y Lagotto Romagnolo) y, a menudo, las exposiciones monográficas de San Bernardo y Lagotto Romagnolo más importantes (obviamente en Italia) pero también en el resto de Europa y en el mundo (Estados Unidos, Sudáfrica, Costa Rica, México, etc.). Incluyó un récord mundial de 160 perros de San Bernardo juzgados durante una exposición monográfica del Club del San Bernardo de España (1999) y un récord de 250 Lagotto Romagnolo durante la Exposición Mundial de Italia en Milán de 2015. Fue el juez del BIS para la histórica exposición del Centenario del club francés de San Bernardo con ocasión de los 1000 años de San Bernardo de Menton (que dan nombre a la raza). Este criadero está considerado el más antiguo en actividad del mundo y el más importante e influyente en la historia del San Bernardo.



As dog fancier Profesor Giovanni Morsiani, born in 1954, is “Son of Art”. In fact, his father and master, the late Dr. Antonio Morsiani, was one of the most important exponent of the famous and historical “Italian School of Cynognostic and Cynotechnic”. After the classical and university’s studies (about the history of antique Arts, foreign languages, and agrarian), Profesor Morsiani dedicated his-self to the properties of his ancient family (one of the oldest in the region Romagna) and, very specially, as Antique Art’s scholar, expert and collector, to the study of the old Italian and European Art’s masterpieces and authors.
His first ENCI membership card dated on 1963 (he was 9 years old). In the same year he handled his first Saint Bernard in a ENCI show in Italy.
