Me interesé por los perros ya en la infancia, ya que teníamos Spitzs finlandeses. También tuvimos Samoyedos y Siberian Huskies.
Cuando estudié, era necesario un perro más pequeño y, por accidente, la elección fue un Teckel. Comencé a criar Teckels miniatura de pelo largo con el afijo Rodels y obtuve el premio Vuolasvirta, el galardón más alto del Finnish Kennel Club por los resultados de una cría exitosa. En mi cría hay, por ejemplo, un par de vencedores europeos y mundiales.
He estado viviendo y estudiando en Alemania y mi conocimiento del idioma alemán ha sido de gran ayuda con la raza nacional alemana. Aunque mi pasión son los Teckels, sigo estando muy interesado en las razas Spitz. Hasta ahora he juzgado en varios países europeos, también en las Exposiciones Mundiales en Milán y Leipzig y en muchas especiales de Teckel en varios países. En este momento estoy en la directiva de The Finnish Dachshundclub y soy presidente del Comité de Jueces de Teckel. Me resulta sumamente interesante conocer nuevas razas. Estoy autorizado para juzgar los grupos 4, 5, 6, 7 y 8 y varias razas de los grupos 1 y 10.
I became interested in dogs already in childhood as we had Finnish Spitzs. We have had also Samoyeds and Siberian Huskies.
When I studied there was a need for a smaller dog and by accident the choice was a Dachshund. I started breeding Long-haired Miniature Dachshunds with prefix Rodels and I have got the Vuolasvirta-prize, the highest award of the Finnish Kennel Club for the results of successful breeding. In my breeding there are for example a couple of European and World Winners.
I have been living and studying in Germany and my knowledge of German language has been of huge help with the German national breed. Even though my passion is Dachshunds, I am still very keen on Spitz breeds. So far I have judged in several European countries, also in World Dog Shows in Milan and Leipzig and in many Dachshund specialities in several countries. At the moment I am in the board of The Finnish Dachshundclub and chairman of the Dachshund Judge Committee. I find it extremely interesting to get to know new breeds. I am qualified to judge the groups 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 and several breeds in groups 1 and 10.
